Our Commitment to Data Privacy
We are fully committed to maintaining the privacy of any information (‘personal data’) that you provide to us. Furthermore, we commit to ensuring that such data is held securely, used appropriately, and retained for only as long as necessary.

Data Collection / Privacy Summary:
As a general policy, we do not anonymously collect personal data from visitors to our website, though we may use “cookie” technology to gather non-personal information from visitors. This is standard practice on the web. We use the information gathered by cookies to improve your visit to our site, among other things. We may also collect aggregate information about our visitors. Whenever you provide sensitive information (for example, a credit card number to make a purchase), we take reasonable steps to protect it. We also take reasonable security measures to protect your personal information in storage. Credit card numbers are used only for payment processing and are not retained for marketing purposes. Unless you ask us not to, we may contact you via email in the future to tell you about specials, new rental homes or services, or changes to this privacy policy.

Definition of ‘Personal Data’
When we refer to ‘personal data’ we mean any information that allows us to identify you personally. Obvious examples include your name, email address, postal address, etc. We will always seek to gain your explicit consent to providing this information before we collect it from you, although this may not be the only legal basis on which we collect the data.

Other types of information, such as your computer’s ‘IP’ address or broad geographical location do not, generally, allow us to identify you directly.

Types of Data Collected
Website Contact Forms

  • When you complete one of the contact forms on our website, we will ask you for a number of pieces of personal information, such as your name, phone number, email address and other contact details. This is obviously required for us to respond to your request.
  • If you do not use or submit an online form on the website, no data will be collected in that regard.
  • Phone Calls, Emails, or other Non-website-initiated Contacts
  • When you call, send email, or communicate directly with ALVR in any other way, we may retain the information provided in those communications in order to process your inquiries, respond to your requests and improve our services.
  • Data collected will generally involve your name, phone number, and email address, at a minimum. It might also include your postal address if it is required for a legitimate business purpose.

Cookies
When you visit our website (aspenluxuryvacationrentals.com), we may send one or more cookies – a small file containing a string of characters – to your computer or other devices that uniquely identifies your browser. We use cookies to improve the quality of our service, including for storing user preferences.

There are several types of cookies:

  • Session cookies expire at the end of your browser session and allow us to link your actions during that particular browser session.
  • Persistent cookies are stored on your device in between browser sessions, allowing us to remember your preferences or actions across multiple sites.
  • First-party cookies are set by the site you are visiting.
  • Third-party cookies are set by a third party site separate from the site you are visiting.
  • There are a number of ways that you can influence how cookies are used on your particular device. Most commercial browsers (such as Chrome, Safari, Edge, Internet Explorer, Firefox etc.) allow you to set preferences for whether to allow or block website cookies.

They will also provide tools that allow you to remove any cookies that have already been set. Using the ‘Help’ functionality of your browser, or an internet search will help you to understand how to use these features for your particular browser.

Technical Data (such as ‘IP address’)

When you visit our website, our systems will log a record of your visit in our server logs, and typically this record will include the technical ‘IP’ address that is associated with your device and the browser type and version that you are using.

Such server logs are extremely common in practice, and are used to monitor technical resources, monitor high-level server activity, and importantly to detect and prevent malicious or fraudulent activity on our systems. This data can also be used, if required, to diagnose reports of technical issues. The storage of IP addresses, allow us to identify patterns of behavior (such as repeated malicious attempts to access a system).

IP addresses, in and of themselves, do not allow us in any way to identify you as an individual, especially given that it is very common for IP addresses to be dynamically allocated by your service provider, and will therefore often routinely change. Furthermore, we do not and will not use the content of server access logs to attempt to determine an identifiable individual. We, therefore, do not consider that data held within server logs falls within the scope of ‘personal data’, and accordingly, we do not seek your consent to collect it.

We use “Google Analytics” to collect information about the use of this site. We use the information we get from Google Analytics only to improve this site. Google Analytics collects only the IP address assigned to you on the date you visit this site, rather than your name or other identifying information. We do not combine the information collected through the use of Google Analytics with personally identifiable information. Although Google Analytics plants a permanent cookie on your web browser to identify you as a unique user the next time you visit this site, the cookie cannot be used by anyone but Google. Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to this site is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.

If you choose, you can opt out by turning off cookies in the preferences settings in your web browser. For more information on Google Analytics, please visit Google Analytics and on Cookie usage visit Google Analytics Cookie Usage on Websites
