Where is Snowmass Village located?

Snowmass Village is nestled in the heart of the Roaring Fork Valley, approximately 9 miles from downtown Aspen. While it is part of the legendary four-mountain Aspen Snowmass destination, it is its own distinct municipality. The village sits directly at the base of the Snowmass Ski Area, offering a seamless mountain lifestyle. Guests enjoy expansive alpine terrain and vibrant summer recreation, all while remaining a short, scenic drive or shuttle ride from Aspen’s world-class dining and nightlife.

What makes Snowmass different from Aspen?

While both offer luxury, they provide different "mountain personalities":

  • Snowmass Village: Focuses on vastness and convenience. It is renowned for having the highest concentration of true ski-in/ski-out properties, wide-open terrain, and a family-centric atmosphere in the modern Base Village.
  • Aspen: A historic silver-mining town with a high-energy urban feel, luxury boutique shopping, and a dense concentration of "Restaurant Row" dining.
How large is Snowmass Ski Area?

Snowmass is the giant of the four mountains—it is larger than the other three combined. Terrain: Over 3,300 acres of skiable land. Diversity: 98 trails ranging from gentle beginner runs to the high-alpine "Cirque Headwall." Vertical: A massive 4,406-foot vertical drop, one of the largest in North America.

Does Snowmass have true ski-in/ski-out rentals?

Yes. Snowmass is famous for its slope-side accessibility. Many of our luxury residences allow you to click into your bindings right at your back door. Benefits: Direct access to the Village Express or Elk Camp Gondola, easy "home-base" lunch breaks, and private après-ski on your own mountain-view deck.

What is the Snowmass Base Village?

Base Village is the modern, pedestrian-friendly heart of the resort. It serves as a social hub featuring luxury residences, the Limelight Hotel, curated boutiques, and a vibrant culinary scene. In the winter, the centerpiece is an outdoor ice-skating rink; in the summer, it transforms into an event lawn for festivals and activities.

How far is Snowmass from the airport (ASE)?

Snowmass Village is exceptionally accessible, located just 15 minutes from the Aspen-Pitkin County Airport (ASE).

  • 2026 Travel Advisory: Please note that ASE will be closed for annual spring maintenance from April 23 to May 21, 2026. During this window, we recommend flying into Eagle County (EGE) or Denver (DEN). Our concierge team can arrange luxury ground transfers for your arrival.
What is there to do in Snowmass in the summer?

Summer in Snowmass is as spectacular as winter. The village is an IMBA Gold-Level Ride Center, offering over 90 miles of premier mountain biking trails.

  • Lost Forest: An alpine adventure park featuring a coaster, canopy tours, and climbing walls.
  • Music: The Snowmass Free Concert Series returns to Fanny Hill every Thursday (June 18 – August 20, 2026).
  • Hiking: Scenic trails like the Rim Trail offer 360-degree views of the Maroon Bells and Mount Daly.
What are the best 2026 events to attend?
  • Snowmass Rendezvous (June 27): A celebration of craft brews, spirits, and live music.
  • Heritage Fire (August 1): An outdoor wood-fired culinary experience.
  • JAS Labor Day Experience (Sept 4–6): Featuring world-class headliners like Tim McGraw and Benson Boone at Snowmass Town Park.
Why book a luxury vacation rental over a hotel?

An ALVR private residence offers a level of seclusion and customization that a hotel cannot provide.

  • Space & Privacy: Multi-bedroom estates with professional kitchens and private spa facilities.
  • Dedicated Logistics: We manage the details—from grocery stocking and gear rentals to securing private chefs and "Qualified Owner Representative" services.
  • The Local Touch: As Aspen/Snowmass experts, we ensure you aren't just visiting; you are living the mountain lifestyle.
